- In the pictures you’re referencing her face looks lighter than her body because her foundation reflects more light than the rest of her skin. You’ll notice this in some foundations that have a high SPF; in flash photography it can look a lot lighter.

- I can’t say I’ve ever tried to achieve a darker body than face but I’m wondering if a gradual tan lotion might be better so you don’t have a line of tanner going up to your face.

- Maybe once your skin has settled you could try a really gentle tanner specifically for sensitive skin (I’m sure google will show you a selection), test it on a small area first. Alternatively finding a good bronzer for your face could even it out too.

Hope this helps!
I don’t know that having a white face and tan body is the best look to go for but there are other options!

- Hi! When you say she says nasty things, are these things to you/ your boyfriend or things you’ve heard through the grapevine?
If they’re just things she’s been saying to other people then i’d probably just pity her for being in such an unhappy relationship herself that she has to comment on others’.
If she’s saying things to you/ your boyfriend then, in my opinion, you both need to cut her off. Your boyfriend should be trying to protect you from this somewhat since you do not deserve any of it.
You should be able to tell your boyfriend how its making you feel and what you need from him. If he doesn’t make an effort to help rectify things then i’d say he’s maybe holding on to things with her a little more than you think and thats why she’s still in the picture.
No matter what, never let it affect your confidence level. You’re great and deserve a drama-free relationship just as everyone else does.
- There is a daily makeup video coming up and i’m planning to make a skin care one too. There is also lots of info on everything you asked for in my beauty section!
- I’ve never had acne so i can’t really comment on how to clear that up but as i said above, i’ll make a skincare video soon.
Also look into any food allergies you may have as they’re a huge factor in the health of your skin!

What do you use to take off your make-up? and what is your skin type?

I would recommend any of these products for a good makeup remover (even on waterproof mascara).

As for my skin type, honestly i’m not sure. It used to be very greasy t-zone… kinda combination cause i’d get dry areas too but i then i became obsessed with skin care and now its pretty well balanced *touch wood*. I’d say my skin is on the oily side but nothing crazy and i rarely break out. When i do its almost always cause i’ve been eating naughty things.

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Treatment + Cloth

I’ve been eyeing up this cleansing treatment for a while but didn’t think i could justify the $48 price tag. My husband totally spoiled me on a recent trip to Vegas and i got my hands on this beaut!

The directions are very similar to that of Lush’s Ultrabland:

-Apply Argan Creamy Oil Cleansing Treatment to dry face, massaging into skin to melt away dirt and makeup.
-Dip cloth in hot water and, using the muslin side, gently exfoliate skin using circular movements.
-Flip the cloth over to the soft, microfiber side to remove all traces of dead skin, makeup, and cleanser.
-Gently pat skin with a dry towel. Rinse cloth after each use.

The product glides well over skin meaning you don’t have to rub at your eyes to remove mascara and you don’t need much.

With oil-based cleansing products you can sometimes get a greasy feeling even after you’ve rinsed them away but after removing with the hot wash cloth my skin felt strangely matte and just tight enough (i love that clean, tight feeling) to be comfortable.

Not that its a deal-breaker but the wash cloth is really nice, with one side muslin and one side like a regular wash cloth.

My pores appeared smaller and dry areas seem to have disappeared, my skin felt well toned and so so soft.

I’d like to use the product a little longer before deciding if its worth the price, basing it on how long it lasts and how my skin reacts to it but on first impression- i love it!

I’d say its very similar to Ultrabland from Lush but left my skin feeling a little cleaner.

I’ll do a comparison once i’ve used both a little longer :)

My top cleansing oils/makeup removers.
For someone who is prone to oily skin you’d think these would be the last products i should be using but i’ve actually had great results with them, especially now its cold out and my skin has decided to be dry and eczema-prone. Plus they take off waterproof makeup like no one’s business with no rubbing/scrubbing/picking.

Boscia Make Up Break Up Cool Cleansing Oil -$26
I bought this from Sephora this weekend and tried it out before bed last night. It has a really nice consistency that glides well and you don’t need much, just rub a pump or two into your face (while dry) using finger tips in a circular motion and back and forth gently along the lash line. Once your foundation is all emulsified and your eyes are sufficiently raccoony, rinse with warm water and pat dry. It left my skin fairly moisturized and not at all oily. I just followed with a light moisturizer.
A great product to use before bed to remove all the grime & i didn’t notice it messing with my contacts either!

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil -$32
This stuff lasts forever! You need 1 or 2 pumps rubbed into dry skin to emulsify all makeup then wet your face and massage it in some more until it becomes somewhat milky. Rinse and pat dry.
I have noticed this makes my contacts pretty oily/blurry for a few minutes so i’d use it with your contacts out, it does clear up, just a little annoying. Leaves your skin a little oilier than the Boscia but still nothing bad!

Boots Botanicals Organic Face Nourishing Eye Make Up Remover -$6.99
I bought this in England but Target do carry it! Works great on waterproof eye makeup and comes out more like a gel-oil than the others. Just a small squirt rubbed into your eye makeup (dry face again) then massaged in a little with water and rinsed will take it all off without a trace. Might be a little too oily to use on your whole face but this is great if you’re in a rush, use this on your eyes and wipe off with a makeup remover wipe.

Balms Away Make Up Break Up
This has been my long time love and favorite eye makeup remover i recommend to everyone (especially good to use on stubborn waterproof makeup i apply on brides so they don’t wake up a raccoony mess).
Apply a small amount onto waterproof makeup with your fingertips until your makeup is emulsified into a black mess then wipe away with a soft tissue or cotton pad to reveal totally makeup-free eyes!
Also great for on the go makeup removal in conjunction with a makeup wipe. Leaves your eyes super moisturized and soft.

Another one Sephora carry that i’ve not tried is REN No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm. Great reviews but a little pricier at $48!

Samples

I love getting samples of things i actually like.

Here are my most recent favorites.

This exfoliator is expensive but the sample was awesome. It has really fine granules in it which i always prefer because i feel like they really get into your pores and scrub out all the dry skin and oils. It would probably be pretty harsh on sensitive skin and its definitely not for every day use. I’d say one or twice a week or just as you feel you need it for a boost. I definitely felt like my skin was a lot smoother and my pores were a lot smaller after i used it.

I haven’t used a mask for a while and found this sample in my magic box of sample goodies so gave it a go. The consistency is great, not too thick like a lot of clay-type masks but thick enough to get a good coating. It doesn’t take forever to dry and doesn’t have a lingering sulphur smell like some. Also super easy to wipe off which usually annoys me about clay masks. My skin felt clean and fresh, pores were smaller and it wasn’t super tight and uncomfortable.

The morning of July 4th i was searching through products to find a foundation with an SPF that i could put on fast and go. I found this sample (it doesn’t say which color it was but there are 4 available) and gave it a go. I was really impressed with the coverage which was great but still light. I felt like it left my skin glowing and dewy but not sticky or thick. I’m usually not a fan of tinted moisturisers but i’d definitely buy this! Perfect for days where you want something sheer that still has some coverage and decent SPF.

Hi Rhian! Just wondering if your still using perricone for skin care and what kind of skin type are you? Just wondering because I might try it and I have combo skin. Oily t zone but normal everywhere else. And can you post a side view of your hair? I love the ombre and can't find anything close to yours. Xoxo!!

I do indeed!

I have combination skin. Normal mostly but oily t-zone and prone to clogged pores.

There are lots of photos of my hair if you go to my tumblr and click the c’est moi tab!

- No idea, ask your doctor.
- I would deal with the oily skin problem first then try a mineral makeup. I find glycolic or AHA based cleansers help even out the oiliness of my skin.
- I have no idea what a butterfly eye is but try eyelash curlers that curl the edge or “spot eyelash curlers”.

Sorry to be an ultimate pain in the bum, but would you be able to recommend me any good cleansers/salicylic acid based cleaners that are good for clearing pores? The skin on my face is absolutely clogged to death and I have blackheads everywhere covering my chin, cheeks and nose :( and I have no idea how to get rid of them or where to start looking at products! I would appreciate any advice you could give me so so much, also i'm in the UK so any UK products would be perfect.xx

I’m really not familiar with what is available in the UK but you could ask a dermatologist, doctor or any spas that offer facials what they recommend.

Salicylic acid can be too strong for a lot of people but my favorite cleansers are here-

Hypoallergenic Perricone MD

For those of you with sensitive skin who want to try out the magic/voodoo of Perricone MD, now is the time!

My current skin care favorites.

I will forever love this eye make up remover. Gently rubbing a small amount into your lashes emulsifies even the most stubborn waterproof mascara… wipe away with a face wipe or cotton pad and voila.. makeup-free and soft skin around your eyes.

For a good deep down clean, this is my favorite exfoliator. I massage it all over my face in the shower, leave it on while i shave my legs or twiddle my thumbs and then rinse off. Breaks down dead skin, unclogs pores and smells like pumpkin spice. LOVE it!

I alternate the peel & reveal with amore pacific treatment enzyme peel. It’s a powder that you mix with a little water and use like a regular face soap. My skin feels so clean but its gentle and doesn’t dry it out.

For large visible pores, this stuff is like magic. I’ve found i’ve had long lasting results with it too. Just use as a toner after you’ve cleansed your face and let dry for a minute or so..

I got a tester of high potency eye lift and figured i’d give it a go. I didn’t have a huge problem with bags or aging but i definitely noticed a difference after using it a couple of times. The skin was more taught but still soft and supple. Any darkening i did have under my eyes also didn’t seem to be so obvious. The tester is lasting me forever too!

Because i have a massive aging phobia, i decided to try Perricone’s cold plasma when they had a big sale and i seriously love it. I obviously don’t have much in the way of wrinkles to start with but it makes my skin feel soft, plumped up and evened out. (pricey so try and get samples or watch out for sales)

I also love Perricone’s face finishing moisturizer used in conjunction with cold plasma for the softest, most supple skin in the world.

I also alternate moisturizers at times and switch it up with yu-be moisturizing skin cream. If i know i’m going out in the cold or wind i slather this stuff on and it keeps it soft and protected from the elements.

I tend to get a lot of body acne, mostly on my shoulders and upper back. Suggestions?

Try exfoliating really well.

Lots of options here-

Also make sure you shower ASAP after working out… that can really help so your sweat doesn’t dry out and give you zits.

I've recently started body brushing after reading the health benefits. have you ever done it? if so have you any tips? x

I have a body brush but i always forget to use it.

I was told you should brush in the direction of your heart but that might be total crap.

This might be helpful-
