I emailed Davines customer service to confirm whether or not they are vegan and cruelty free and this is their response-
thanks a lot for our email.
My name is Laura Luciani and I am a chemist.
Attached you’ll find our Research Paper, in which we list all the principles that Davines Formulators have to comply with in the research and development of our products: in this document we state also our policy regarding animal testing.
Just to resume our policy, it is forbidden by the European law since 2004 (1223/2009) to test cosmetic products on animals, but we never did it.
Regarding the raw materials, please consider that all the raw materials ‘born’ after 2009 cannot be tested on animals according to the European legislation (except for some specific test regarding toxicity and teratogenicity).
Davines, as member of UNIPRO, support the research of different test to animal testing (for those tests regarding toxicity and teratogenicity).
Please consider that from 11 March 2013 all animal testing are forbidden in Europe and Davines follow the European legislation.
Davines is an Italian company that follows the European legislation.
Attached you’ll find also our position paper on Vegans, in order to better support you.
Hope this will help you, if not, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Also, this is their info on vegan products-
I’m not entirely sure of the process of “silking” a silk worm and if it can, indeed be cruelty free so i prefer to avoid things containing silk anyway.
Just thought you guys might be interested in their policies.
